Herbert Wendling - Munich
The city and its streets were one of Herbert Wendling's favorite subjects. On his tours through Munich's neighborhoods, he photographed a wide variety of buildings, squares, parks and the life that took place there. In the process, he created snapshots of the city in both the pre- and post-war periods up to the end of the 1960s.

H. Traut was born in Krefeld-Traar in 1857 and died in Munich in 1940. Henry Traut had his studio in Herzog-Wilhelm-Strasse 32 in Munich. The collection includes original prints of the Passion Play in Oberammergau from 1922. Fritz Grabsdorf, the great-uncle of Gerhard Grabsdorf, was an apprentice to H. Traut at the time. The photographs were taken for the production of postcards and for public relations work for the Passion Play. They are partly provided with handwritten annotations.
