Above a door in Galerie Gerhard Grabsdorf hangs a small black box from an earlier exhibition bearing the words “Suggestions & Complaints.” Mounted far beyond anyone’s reach, it escapes its intended purpose. No one can drop a note into it. The box remains empty. A situation that leaves us feeling unheard?

Under the title „Anregungen & Beschwerden“ artists from Anke Doberauer’s class at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich present recent works. The exhibition presents itself as the opening of a box whose contents have never before been revealed. The paintings, drawings, and sculptures on display appear as a diverse array of messages: questions, suggestions, wishes, complaints, and reflections on the world.
