Ois Giasing

The highlight of Giesing's cultural year is just around the corner: on Saturday, September 13, the whole of Giesing will once again be celebrating the district festival Ois Giasing!

At over 40 stations and on numerous live music stages, a colorful program is created for the entire urban society - from young to old, from tradition-conscious to cosmopolitan.

The festival is organized on a voluntary basis by the non-profit association Wir in Giesing e.V.. The contributions come from Giesing's creative artists, tradespeople, institutions and residents. From 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., the district is transformed into a large street festival: from Grünspitz to Weinbauernstrasse and Kistlerstrasse to Alpenplatz, Kronepark and Giesinger Bahnhof, over 50 live concerts and DJ sets of all styles await. Untergiesing will also be there - with a program at Gans Woanders and the Roody, among others.

But music is only one part: art projects, dance, theater, exhibitions, district tours, children's and youth programs, intergenerational activities, creative hands-on formats, culinary delights and information stands invite you to discover. Walking acts connect the locations and turn the district itself into a stage.

Support is needed for this festival to take place: only around 30% of the costs are covered by public funding. In order to remain independent and not be overshadowed by the banners of multinational corporations, crowdfunding is currently underway - a festival by Giesinger women for Giesinger women.
